This article continues to develop the topic of current problems in the development of the national economy, which was the subject of the previous publication in Theoretical Economics exactly one year ago. At that time, it was concluded that it is necessary to carefully adjust macroeconomic policy depending on the emerging trend and the specific phase of the cycle. This conclusion remains relevant today. This article focuses on analyzing the adjustments to macroeconomic regulation over the past six months, from the fall of 2025 to the spring of 2026. The study is particularly notable for its approach based on the concept of sustainable development. The author identified the priorities of macroeconomic policy by tracing their changes over three-time intervals: autumn 2025, winter 2025-2026, and spring 2026. In doing so, the sources of achieving macroeconomic goals in each interval were revealed, as well as the limitations and challenges in achieving them. On the one hand, the author paid attention to the transformation of value orientations, including budget filling, inflation control, and economic growth stimulation. On the other hand, the article examined the difficulties in achieving these goals, which have led to dangerous trends in macroeconomic regulation, shaping an institutional philosophy of caution, perpetuating a regime of constant self-restraint, and replacing the objectives of real sustainable development with the preservation of stability and balance. The study allowed us to assess the economy as a space for development and identify the primary areas of macroeconomic regulation in the current year, based on expanding the production and technological base through large-scale investments and budget incentives.
